Dr Mehrez has been a Consultant in Pain Medicine since 2007, when he joined Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Trust. He leads a multidisciplinary team and sits in a joint clinic with spinal surgeons, choosing surgery or an epidural injection . Private practice began in 2008, the year after his NHS consultant appointment.

Specialist Expertise

Dr Mehrez has particular expertise in back pain , sciatica , neck pain and fibromyalgia. His stated specialist interests also include complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and whiplash-associated disorder (WAD). He uses image-guided techniques including facet joint injections, radiofrequency treatment and neuromodulation, and audits his own radiofrequency outcomes.

Teaching & Education

Dr Mehrez is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Buckingham Medical School. He is also a Faculty Tutor for the Faculty of Pain Medicine, ensuring the hospital delivers its full training curriculum. He also supervises Oxford Deanery pain trainees at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Community & Professional Leadership

Dr Mehrez is a member of the Pain Pathway Redesign Group at Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group. The group shapes how chronic pain services are planned across the local NHS. He also holds memberships with the RCoA, the Faculty of Pain Medicine, the British Pain Society and the IASP.
